The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) claimed today that senior Hezbollah official Nabil Kaouk was assassinated in an airstrike on Beirut yesterday.

The statement says Kaouk was the head of Hezbollah's ‘Preventive Security Unit’ and a senior member of the group’s council.

Kaouk joined Hezbollah in the 1980s, and served as a deputy head and later the head of the southern Lebanon area in the executive council, as well as the deputy head of the executive council.

The strike took place in the known Hezbollah basion Dahieh in the capital Beirut – according to the IOF’s statement.
